Student Services and Facilities


Student services include study aids through the library, counseling on personal and social adjustment throu the guidance office, medical and dental care,recreational facilities, and other services and facilities.

Section 1. REGISTRAR'S OFFICE

It coordinates and controls activities involving student registration,transfer and graduation. The Office is primarily responsible for the updating and safekeeping of student records as well as other vital documents and confidentiality. The Office is also primarily resnposible for the enforcement of the regulation of CHED regarding admission and transfer, accreditation of subjects and units, curricular offerings and similar information are routinely referred to and handled by the Office of the Registrar

Section 2. THE LIBRARIES

The library, the heart of all education institution, is a place for study and research,and serves the need of the students and staff of the different departments. It also helps translate the BCC Mission Statement.

The Library has following objectives:

1. to serve as the reservoir of ideas of great men and women.

2. to collect and organize books and non-book materials

3. to make the library materials available for use

4. to completment the teaching - learning process by guiding the students in the proper use and selection of books and other materials

Section 3. THE GUIDANCE AND COUNSSELLING OFFICE

The Guidance Office complements the instuctional program of the school. Its program is a part of the curriculum, and helps in the achiements of the vision and mission of the school.

The Guidance Services aim at assisting the students in developing their potenstial for growth and self-fulfillment and to become individuals imbued with Christian values.

The Following services are offered by the Guidance and counselling Office:

a. Appraisal Service. To help students keep track of their personal growth and development, the office make sure that educational records, inventories, test results and interview notes are safely filed in the individual envelopes and updates yearly.

b. Counseling Services. Individual and group sessions conducted by trained counselors are offered to students who have special concerns regarding academic,carrer,family or personal lives in general.

c. Information Services. Provides information related to guidance and student development.

d. Visitation and Follow-up Services. The office keeps track of students who previously visited the office to check improvements after the sessions made.

e. Testing Service. Throush standardized test, students are assessed in terms of individual strength and weakness in the area of aptitude,personality,interests and values. The test are interpreted and feed-backed to students for their development and self-awareness.

f. Placement Service. The office conducts job fairs, job hunting seminars and examination to help graduating students in their job placement.

g. Evaluation and Research Service. Studies and survey are made on relevant issues and concerns to address the needs of the students.

h. Guidance Classes. The office conducts guidance classes for first year students as part of the curriculum to follow up students in the area of guidance and counselling.

i. Peer Facilitators Program. To reach and serve the students of the school, the office selects and trains students who have potential in establishing peer support. They are trains to acquire skills in facilitating individual or group peer counselling.

Section 4. THE CAMPUS MINISTRY

The Campus Ministry provides a personal and intimate encounter with God through various programs in the form of liturgical and social-pastoral activities.

Liturgical Ministry - helps create a climate of celebration in the Campus through Eucharistic and non-Eucharistic assemblies. This is made possible through the joyful working efforts of the Mass, Music and the Word and Life Ministries. In many cases in BCC, when the Para liturgy is prepared as substitute to Eucharistic celebration for some reasons to start the school activity, the Para liturgical Service Ministry takes turn to give life with the help of the liturgical committees.

Pastoral Ministry - provides spiritual guidance, foster vocations, encourage prayer, spiritual reading and thoughtful reverence and the life. All these activities are taking cared by three main ministries namely. Retreats and Recollections, Spiritual Counselling, in coordination with the Guidance Office and the Social Action Program, in coordination with the Parish.

Educational Ministry - is a ministry that educates members of the community in the faith through systematic and regular catechetical instuction nad sends trained and committed volunteer student catechist to different poor areas within Binalbagan vicinity, in coordination with the Parish catechetical program. This educational ministry also supervises - service training, symposium and other on-going formations, in coordination with the DSDW office and helps disseminate religious information through the bulletin information board.

The Campus Ministry - also supervises & makes follow up of the formation & leadership training for SCAP being the core religious organization in the campus.

Section 5. MEDICAL - DENTAL CLINICS

The Clinic provides BASIC and EMERGENCY services within its capacity only. it provides beds for temporary rest and comfort of patients. As determined by the physician or nurse on duty, the patient may be sent home, brought to the hospital or allowed to go back to class.

The Medical/Dental Team is composed of:

> Doctor

> Dentist

> School Nurse/Health Aid

The Medical/Dental services aim to:

a. provide basic primary medical and dental services to BCC students.

b. assist in information and education program on basic medical and dental care, in coordination with other departments.

The Medical-Dental Clinics offer:

1. Basic primary dental services such as: tooth examination, extraction, prophylaxis and filling

2. Medical consultation and examination

3. First aid medication with standing order from the school physician

4. Routine examination in cases of emergency like: blood pressure and temperature, wounds and other related disorders.

Section 6. THE LABORATORIES

The Science Laboratories - accommodate all science subjects in the College to aid students in their scientific experiments nad application. They are located at the first floor of St. Mary's building.

The Speech Laboratory- is used for all communication Ats subjects. Its is moderen and air- conditioned containing individual cubies equiped with state of the are audio system.

The Internet Laboratory - aims to enchance th skills of students on how to have access to Internet in order to avail varied and comprehensive sources of information.

Section 7. AUDIO-VISUAL ROOM.

The Audio-Visual Room is an academic support unit, which provides a wide variety of audio-visual materials, facilities and services to complement and to improve the teaching learning skills through the different AV materials and facilities.

Section 8. NANO NAGLE MULTI-PURPOSE GYM

Cultural programs, symposia, fora, basketball games, gymnastics and other activites with big audience are held at Nano Nagle Multi-Purpose Gym.

Section 9. BCC CANTEEN

Students are expected to help the school canteen remain clean and orderly. They must observe proper table manners at all times and respect the property and rights of the canteen personnel. CLEAN AS YOU GO is expected from every student after using canteen tables for eating.

Section 10. THE BETHANY HOUSE

The Bethany House is located inside the premises of the college, beside the Nano Nagle Multi-Purpose Gym. It accommodates members of clubs/organizations, recognized by the College, who hold live-in activites.

Section 11. OTHER SERVICES

The DSDW takes charge of the following:

1. Lost and Found- lost and found objects should be reported immediately to the DSDW Office. Onwers of lost and found objects must present proper identification before they can retrieve the object(s).

2. Bulletin Board - the DSDW Office facilities the posting of announcements/ posters / notices of the department and accredited organizations.
